Information about the history of the Faculty:
The faculty team carries out its activities in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, and following the Resolution of the President of our Republic “On Measures for the Further Development of the Higher Education System”. The activity of the faculty is aimed at training highly qualified specialists necessary for higher education, professional education, general secondary and secondary specialized educational institutions, as well as for agriculture and processing sectors. According to the order of the Rector of Bukhara State University dated September 3, 2019 No. 817-SH, the “Natural Sciences” faculty was divided into two and was established as the “Natural Sciences” and the “Agronomy and Biotechnology” faculty. The Faculty of Agronomy and Biotechnology is operating as one of the leading teams at Bukhara State University, and since February 2020 it has been headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Artikova Hafiza To’ymurodovna. Currently, 4 departments operate at the faculty: the “Botany and Plant Physiology” department, the “Zoology and General Biology” department, the “Biotechnology and Food Safety” department, the “Agronomy and Soil Science” department.

Under the faculty, the CHLORELLA Excel group limited liability company, the BukhSU scientific Biotechnology unitary enterprise, the Farmers’ Council, and Cotton-growing centers have been established. Special attention is paid to the preparation of educational literature, monographs, teaching and methodological manuals and developments, as well as educational and methodological комплексы of the taught subjects according to the fields of education. The created electronic complexes are being placed in the Information Resource Center of Bukhara State University, the ZiyoNet network and the faculty website. Over the last 3 years, professors and teachers have published 6 textbooks, 10 monographs, 10 teaching manuals, 18 teaching and methodological manuals, more than 100 articles and theses. In particular, in 2021–2023, 20 scientific articles were published by professors and teachers in foreign journals with an impact factor, making a worthy contribution to the university ranking. In these years, 1 international and 3 republican-level scientific-practical conferences were organized at the faculty. The involvement of talented students in research work is well organized at the faculty. Atoyeva Dilsora Odilovna, a student of group 13.3-18, became a winner of the Presidential State Scholarship in 2021.
